Education grants and financial assistance for education is mainly offered by the Federal Government’s Department of Education. Each state also offers various forms of education grants and/or financial assistance for people residing in their state. The last group offers grants in the form of scholarships from private foundations. As well, many banks offer student loans in order to finance your education. As always education grants and scholarships don’t have to be repaid while education loans from the Federal and States government will need to be repaid over time when you finish your education. In general you should apply early at the beginning of the year for your next school year. For example, you should apply for your education funding in January when looking to start in the fall semester which either begins in August or September. Deadlines are usually set some time between April and June. So be sure to know when the application deadlines are for the funding program you intend to apply to! Important deadline notice: You need to know ahead of time when you will need financial assistance to continue your education. Waiting until the last minute will probably put you in a problematic situation as it may take a few months before you receive funding. Some programs have strict application deadlines to respect . How to find your program: You will find below most Federal grants and loan programs with direct links to them.
