The FSEOG is intended for undergraduate students with extra financial needs. Students receiving Pell Grants who have the highest need (based on the calculation for their EFC – Eligible Family Contribution) will be the first to receive the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants.

Eligible students can receive an added $100 to $4,000 per year. The amount you receive will be based on when you apply (the earlier the best), your financial needs, your school’s financial aid office policy and your school funding.

As it’s your school who will receive your grant, they will repay you directly. Your school must disburse the grant every term.

You should apply at your school’s financial aid office or online at the FAFSA’s web site.
