Applying for government grants is not always easy. The information can be difficult to find, to understand and once everything is gathered how do you go forward to obtain a government grant?
 
We gave ourselves the mandate to facilitate this process. Grants programs change often and we’re trying to update this free service as often as we ca

We don’t pretend to have detailed information on all free government grant programs but that’s the direction we’re taking. We’ll always give you more free resources you can tap in order to be better informed. In other words it’s not because we don’t list all grants that the one you’re looking for doesn’t exist.

Almost all cities and counties provide direct grants and/or financial help to repair your house. If not, many local organizations such as state housing authorities, community housing action groups and your local Habitat for Humanity can provide financial help.

Stafford Loans (for Students)

Education Grants - Loan programs

Stafford Loans are also known as Federal Family Education Loans (FFEL) and William D. Ford Direct Loan (Direct Loan). The main difference between the FFEL and Direct Loan is that under FFEL, funds come from a participating bank while the Direct Loan comes from the Federal Government. Eligibility, rules and the amount you can receive is identical for both programs, only the repayment plans are different.

Pell Grants are mostly for undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelors or professional degree. Students who are in a post-baccalaureate program may still receive a Pell Grant.
